Interlock Sealing in Gatineau

Protect your investment against frost, stains and UV. Natural matte or glossy finish — your choice.

Our Application Process

An extremely careful 4-step method for the ultimate protective barrier

01

Evaluation & Cleaning

We assess salinity/porosity and thoroughly wash the entire paver surface beforehand. Our professional pressure washer (3600 PSI, 2.5 GPM, industrial Honda engine) preps the surface deeply before application.

02

Complete Drying

The surface needs at least 24 hours of complete, moisture-free drying for a perfect bond. We watch the weather closely — applying too early is the number one risk of an uneven, whitish finish.

03

Uniform Application

Precise, even application of our high-performance premium sealant by sprayer and roller. We use Techniseal sealant, a brand trusted for its durability and a finish that brings out the pavers' colours.

04

Finishing & Inspection

We strictly respect the curing time and do a rigorous final inspection of the visual result. We carefully clean the job site and adjacent surfaces before we leave — there's nothing left for you to do.

Our Finish Options

We offer three finish options depending on the look you want for your interlock pavers. Whichever you choose, the protection against frost, stains and UV rays stays exactly the same — only the appearance changes.

Matte Finish

Natural, understated look. The protection is there, but the pavers' appearance doesn't visibly change.

Satin Finish

A light sheen that balances a natural look with visibly present protection.

Wet-Look Finish

Intensified colours and a permanently wet appearance. The most popular choice for driveways.

Signs You Need to Apply or Redo Sealant

In Gatineau and Ottawa, de-icing salt and freeze-thaw cycles wear down sealant faster than elsewhere. Here are the most common signs we notice at our customers' homes:

  • The existing sealant is peeling, yellowing or flaking in visible patches.
  • Water no longer beads on the surface and soaks directly into the pavers.
  • The colours look washed out despite a recent cleaning.
  • Oil or calcium stains soak into the stone instead of staying on the surface.
  • The pavers have never been sealed since installation, even if they still look okay.

Sealant that's still protecting well doesn't need to be redone right away — but once one of these signs shows up, every winter without protection wears the stone down a little more.

Guarantee on Our Work

If an issue tied to our own workmanship shows up after we leave — not a matter of taste, an actual defect in the work — we come back and fix it at no charge. We're confident in what we deliver, so we're not afraid to commit to that.

Interlock Sealing Service Areas

We serve homeowners in Gatineau, Hull, Aylmer, Masson‑Angers, Buckingham and Ottawa. Wherever you are in the Outaouais, we come out for free to assess your project.

Why Not Delay Sealant Application

The longer you wait, the more your interlock pavers stay exposed to stains, UV rays and the freeze-thaw cycles that wear them down every winter. Sealant applied in time protects the surface and avoids a costlier full repair later — our projects typically range between $600 and $4,000 depending on the scope of work required.

Frequently Asked Questions — Interlock Sealing

Everything you need to know to protect your interlock pavers for the long haul.

On average, the protective effect lasts 3 to 5 years depending on sun exposure, vehicle traffic and how rough Gatineau's winters are. We use Techniseal sealant, known for its durability, always chosen based on your surface's actual needs rather than applying the same product everywhere.
Absolutely. The stone needs to be completely free of dirt, moss, grease or dust, and perfectly dry for 24 to 48 hours, otherwise the sealant would trap impurities or flake off quickly.
The matte finish protects invisibly, preserving the stone's natural, raw look. The glossy or semi-glossy finish brings out the tones with a "wet" effect, brighter and shinier.
Yes, but an inadequate application (too much product, leftover moisture) produces an uneven, whitish finish that's difficult and costly to strip. Our spraying equipment ensures an impeccable, guaranteed professional finish.
It slows the organic buildup that seeds thrive on, but the ultimate weapon remains the active Techniseal HP NextGel polymeric sand barrier in the joints. Combining both — premium sand and sealant — offers total resistance to vegetation.
Generally June through September, though we can extend that a bit depending on the weather.
We recommend waiting 24 hours before walking on the pavers, and 72 hours before parking a vehicle on them.
Only if the existing sand is already degraded or unstable. During the free evaluation, we check the condition of the joints — if the sand is still holding up well, we apply the sealant directly with no unnecessary extra cost.
